                                 Welcome to MayWest Demonstration School Library

                                           

 

MWDS Library is used by all staff and students Preschool to Year Six in our school.

A large collection of Fiction and Non Fiction books is available for student borrowing, as well as DVDs and reference books.
 

Mrs Louise Troup is the Teacher Librarian, four days each week Monday to Thursday, and Mrs Lyn Johnstone is the library clerical assistant on Wednesdays.

Along with our collection of student resources, the library has a bank of eight computers, a Smart Board and a Connected Classroom video conference system.
 

Students are able to borrow books and resources each week, with a loan period of two weeks. Borrowing limits are:
Preschool: 1 book
Kindergarten: 2 books
Year 1: 2 books
Year 2: 3 books
Year 3: 3 books
Year 4: 4 books
Year 5: 5 books
Year 6: 5 books

The library is open from 11.30am - 11.50am lunchtimes Monday to Thursday. Students enjoy a range of activities including computers, board games, puzzles, craft, drawing, movies and (of course) reading.

Our library is involved with a number of activities throughout the year including the Premier's Reading Challenge, CBCA Book Week, Book Fairs and Book Club.
