Creative and Performing Arts
Creative and performing arts (CAPA) is learning that encompasses music, visual art, dance, and drama. It is a key learning area for all public schools but it is one in which we take particular pride. We have a specialist CAPA room and program which students access for one hour a week. This is supplemented by learning in the classroom.
In each stage, students learn to play a different instrument, this includes the glockenspiel, the recorder, the ukelele, and a range of percussion.
For students who are particularly interested in creative arts, we have a range of extracurricular opportunities. This includes our choir, which sings a school and community events; our combat choir who sing in competitions; our Glee Club of K-2 students who meet to sing and dance together; and our Tournament of the Minds team (Stage 3) who create problem-solving performance pieces each year.
